Synthetic Organic Chemistry
My
first research interest focuses on the
pharmacological application of novel materials
against chemoresistant cancers, radioresistant
cancers, and HIV. This work centers on the synthesis
of novel materials with additional testing against
key biological markers to determine binding
interaction against such proteins as TNF-a,
reverse transcriptase, and proteases. Finally this
work will use bioinformatics and computational
chemistry to understand binding interactions inside
biological systems.
Specifically:
1.
The synthesis of novel materials via microwave
technology.
2.
Determining binding interactions of biologically
active materials to specific molecular markers for
possible drug interaction.
3.
Investigation of these interactions using
bioinformatics and computational chemical
techniques.
